if you know how to protect yourself? then why is your sister kicking your butt? give her as good as she gives you.
if she busts your lip--do the same thing to her.
hey it might not be the nicest answer you are going to get but unless you do something its obvious no one else is.

Is she older? Is she abusive or playful? If she genuinely is trying to hurt you then sock her good. Make it worth getting into trouble. Just don't push her down the stairs or get a knife or anything. Just let her know she can't do it anymore without you sticking up for yourself. Stare her in the eyes when she starts it up. It will freak her out.

my sister you used to bully me too leaving bruises on my skin and i was afraid of her ... she ruled me.... but one day i said you know what i 'm not going to let her treat me like trash anymore so i started to fight back ...this is how...i looked her in the eye and said stop....when she tried to over rule me or bully me i walked away(occasionally i would fight but not to hurt her ) and when she did hurt me i made her sorry in her own special way and when i became older i realized her greatest weakness was that she really didn't know how to defend herself.
