You could try to explain how an atom bomb works. You don't have to bring one to school of course, but you can find info on the net and make a model or something.

you can always do the whole paper towel thing. i'm in the 8th grade and i did that in the 6th grade and got a good grade. it wont seem easy to them if u put a bunch of work into it.

my son did one in the 6th grade that I loved. He got 4 plants that were very similar in size. he watered these 4 plants for 1 month. One plant got regular water, one got soapy water, one got salt water and one got Very clean water with hardness removed.
He watered all the same amount and at end of one month, measured all plants. this was to prove or dis-prove that we could be watering plants with dish soap water to save our resources.

Try doing a colour thing.
Like take a flashlight and use different coloured see-through paper to make different colours, and mix papers to create other colours?
