You will need a router.
an easy way to do it, its to buy a wireless kit. It is easier to set up than the wired networking. Specially if the rooms are from a great distance from the other
You can find wireless kits at any office depot.

You need a router. It would connect between the cable modem and your computer. You connect your computer and other computers to it.
If your other computer is older, a wireless router probably won't work. You'll have to run CAT-5 cable from the other room to your router.

Connect them using LAN cable. Check your computers for LAN card availability, and set the internet connection so that other computers connected to the main computer (the one connected to the internet directly) can use the internet too.
Go to the computer store for computer to computer LAN cable, because it's slightly different from computer to hub LAN cable. And ask the guy about setting up the computer.

You buy a router or network switch. If you were feeling really adventurous, you could buy a wireless router which is capable of both wired and wireless Internet distribution. You can find one at any retail electronics store.

You're probably going to need a router. Even an inexpensive one (Netgear, Linksys, D-Link) will do fine. Follow the instructions in the router package to set things up -- it's pretty easy.
