I look on here at peoples' questions 9some of them are my own) and see all those thumbs down! Why is everybody so quick to do that? I mean, isn't the purpose of this site to LEARN? Not fight?

I gave you a thumbs up. I actually don't really know or care how many of my answers get an up or down. I never go back and look. The only time I check one is if it's chosen as best answer. I like to see if it was chosen by the asker or by voters.

Often people will give thumbs down to an answer simply because they don't agree with the answer, even if it is an opinion. If you answer truthfully and wholeheartedly, then you shouldn't have to worry what others think of your question. All you need to do is learn to not take it personally. Some people are just like that.
Edit - Note how many thumbs down everyone is getting already, as this question is somewhat an opinion >_>

I think they have nothing else better to do I have gave the whole crew thumbs up just to get thumbs down from a couple of folks. To be honest I dont believe they even read your answers half the time. So don't feel bad alot of people get thumbs down on answers that should have been picked for best answers. But you get a thumbs up from me because you asked a question that I was going to ask. Yep you beat me to it.

There are a lot of people on here who give thumbs-down to opinions they don't like.
Actually, sometimes I'm one of them. But it depends on whether it truly is a good answer. If it contains a grain of truth, I'll leave it alone. If not, THUMBS DOWN!
