First turn off the breaker for the light. This is a large hazard. Leave a message for the landlord that if it is not fixed within a certain time frame that you will contact the owner and the tennancy board.

I noticed a small puddle of water near my kitchen table today. I have kids, so nothing new; I just wiped it up. A few minutes later as I walked over the same spot I felt something wet drop on my head. “****”, I thought, not wanting to look up at the ceiling; but I did. A water stain was forming around the light fixture and water was slowly leaking down from there and dripping on the floor. ****.

It sounds like the upstairs apartment has a leak in the kitchen or a bathroom.

Call maintenance every day. morning and night.

MAJOR FIRE HAZARD!!!! Threaten to call owner. If the owner is the landlord, tell them you are sure that alot of attorneys would love to talk to you when the place burns down. Shut off the power until it is fixed

you can check with your atate to see if you can get it repaired & then take the cost out of your rent. Alot of states allow you to do that. Otherwise threaten to sue him if not repaired immediately.
