Apple OS: Much more stable, Virus free, Decent Interface, Less software and the few that you find will cost you more than the pc versions, More expensive to get running. Graphics, video, music design it has a slight edge due to stability and performance.
Windows: Less Stable If You Do Not Install Service Packs, More Viruses and Security issues, Much More Software, Cheaper to get running. Decent for graphics, video and music design now that software has become more readily available.
It depends on what you do and use the computer for. Both have their strengths. A windows system will be cheaper to start up with where as an apple based system will cost you a bit more. Ease of use goes to Apple; they pretty much hide every single critical systems file so it's difficult to screw up unless you do it intentionally. Where as windows everything is laid out infront of you, it can be confusing and scary for new computer owners.
If you're using a computer just to hop on the internet, exchanging instant messages, check emails. Then either one will do it, you'll save some money by using a windows system. If you know absolutely nothing about computers and are paranoid about security then get a mac, they're pretty idiotproof (no offense).
If you play games, get a pc. You will have more access to games and will be able to use the latest and fastest hardware. Apples by default are badly equipped and cannot play the latest games unless you put in at least $200-300 worth of hardware.
If you create music or video. Get a mac, they'll break the bank but if you're serious about music or video that is the best route to go. It gives you stability, compatiability and access to the best editing software.

Truly, it depends on what you want to do. If you want artistic presicion and are sharing files with others in the art industry Mac is the superior choice. If you want to use your company's intranet, create files for industry use (not marketing or printing), or want all the very latest games and gadgets availabe asap. then PC is probably a better choice for you. Mac seems to have better security too, but the world seems to be designing for PCs.
Peace!
PS - I use a PC because I make sales tools that go right into the hands of salesmen - you can't mess around with them. You need to know how it is going to run on their machine and they will not call back if there is a cross platform problem. I also design web sites and 80% of web users are on a PC - so if I want a real world idea of what customers are seeing, I better have a PC with the most popular versions of the browsers and the most common resolution set up too.

Apple Macintosh.
It may cost more, but it's well worth it.
BUT if you play games like Gunbound, MapleStory, Gun Games etc...
Stick with Windows.
Macs are way better, and look cooler.
Better protection from viruses, tend to be faster, and ARE compatible with most things.
Most people who like Windows, have never tried a mac.

I prefer windows, b/c I don't fancy owning a computer that is only compatible with it's own brand of products. That's why I refuse to own anything Apple, macs, iPods, etc. I like freedom!

It depends. I prefer a PC because of all the OS you can run on it. If you get too many viruses use Linux, but if you prefer to play games and run popular programs, such as messengers, I would use Windows. I would not even consider buying a Mac.
