sing from your diaphram.... if you press down lightly on it, it will help you project.... now just practice without putting your hand there.

There is no secret formula or answer. If you wish to sing, then you need a voice teacher. You need direct feedback from someone that understands the voice and can help you change the way you listen to yourself.

If you are serious about being a singer then you must make an investment. If you are serious about being on the stage and performing, you need to be serious about your craft and art.

I suggest finding your voice teacher from the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). The website is www.nats.org

Additionally, if you are using a microphone and singing pop music or music that doesn't require you to really sing, then it doesn't really matter if you can sing loud. I would guess that 99% of the pop singers voices are no louder than yours... with microphones the art of projecting the voice doesn't matter. In fact, most people that have loud voices or very dramatic voices don't sound good through a microphone because the voice overpowers the microphones ability to replicate the voice.

Try some breathing exercises.
Breathe in REAL deep and push the air out making a SHHHHH sound. Try and make the sound for as long as you can. Get a stop watch and time yourself. Keep trying to beat your time.

also try laying on your back and place a heavy book on the upper part of your stomach(math books ARE good for something!) And sing like that. The heavy weight makes you aware of your diaphragm and your breath control. Remember this feeling when you're upright!

You can also lay on your stomach and sing. You will feel your body being pushed up. Same concept as the book.

Have you taken voice classes? If not you should. There are specific breathing techniques to make you voice strong. The only thing i can think of that will help as a quick fix is to make sure you open you mouth WIDE. You'd be surprised how often singers make the mistake of not opening, which results in constricted/soft sound. Make sure your shoulders are back and stick your chest out. Avoid lifting your chin when you sing. Drink PLENTY of water to keep your throat hydrated, especially the day before and the day of a performance. And most importantly of all, be confident.

You can make your voice stronger by practicing, like you can do some voice exercises. Here's one, you can place out a bunch of toys as audiences and take out a book or something and then you can start reading to them. If you keep on doing that maybe you can have a stronger voice.

Ask a speech therapist. Or do a search on 'speech therapy." They have exercises you can do. I can't remember them well enough to describe them here but you will probably find something from the above two. They have exercises and stuff for just about any voice problem.

Join a choir or get a voice coach. "Practice makes perfect". Learn to sing from your diaphragm.
