The magazine Entrepreneur has a lot of information on franchises in nearly every issue. Most of the information can also be found on their website (link below). They have comparison charts of start-up costs, franchise fees, average income and nearly everything else you would need for an accurate comparison to narrow down your choices. The magazine also directs you in obtaining more information on each franchise. I find it very useful.

get any restaurant magazines web adress, they will have tons of material on franchises. Another good source of that info is to go talk to someone who owns a restaurant that is a franchise of a company you are interested in.
