Yes, but no. Not to scare you, but anything is possible with a computer. But, the chances are extremely rare that a hacker would hack your internet account to use it. The ony reasons people would hack your account would be if you are located on a government network where something important or expensive can be easily accessed with your account. -- But what are the chances, extremely rare.

Yes it can take place two ways.

1)Some idiot will send a mail claiming to be your Internet Service Provider and says that there is some problem in your ISP account and so you nedd to login to rectify the problem and there will also be a link to login and then you click the link and login and VOILA! that idiot has your ISP login username and password. This is called PHISHING (emails immitating to be genuine ones and are not)

2)There's a fraud in your house and they set up some keyoard monitoring in your house and when youlogin the username and password typed will be stored and then the fraud will login into your account.

Solutions:
1)Avoid clicking links in emails even if they are claiming to be from your bank or ISP and so on. login into their website directly for safety reasons.

2)If your family is good then no problem.
