There are currently two dogs in house: 1 wiener dog and one Doberman. Smell is not of dog urine or feces per se but rather of ... "dog"

Any help is much appreciated as this is the only thing that prevents us from making an offer on the house!

Get a ozone blaster.
Run it in the house for a day and it will be all taken care of.

Talk to the owners, but I think much of their dog smell is in their furniture and belongings, which will leave when they leave. You will probably want to have the carpets cleaned before you move in if you don't replace them which would take care of the dog smell there, especially if you let the carpet cleaner know you are concerned about doggy smell. He/She can treat with a neutralizer when the carpets are cleaned. You may want to ask for a carpet allowance for cleaning or replacing when you make your offer, but I wouldn't hesitate to make an offer if you plan on doing one or the other anyway.

I bought a house that the previous person had several dogs, and the smell was very strong. I had not seen fabreez before but it said it worked so I bought some and brought it home.

I sprayed around all the rooms, it worked great, and the smell never returned.

You will need to replace the carpet and carpet pads, if they went to the bathroom in the house. I would ask for a carpet allowance when putting in an offer on the house.

Febrezz has come out with a pet odor spray...it works great. Also you could sprinkle baking soda around, let sit and then vacuum, baking soda absorbs odors.
