remember every pregnancy and baby are different--but dont be worried-- about 90% of ladies dont hear the heartbeat at their appts. before 12 weeks.
& with your uterus growing, again everyone grows at different rates--mine didnt start noticeably until I was about 20 weeks along.

I had the same problem turns out my uterus is tilted that and it might just be early like they said. But now I am 29 weeks pregnant and doing fine. They also might think your uterus hasnt grown but its just tilted. I was told my uterus was small too but everything turned out fine. Think if it this way, if your doctor was concerned(like you) then they wouldve done an ultrasound then and there or had more tests done and they didnt so just wait and see. If there is a problem you will deffinantly know, bleeding, or leaking fluid is a sign to watch for but other than that your stress isnt good for baby so just relax theres probably no problem at all.

That is not unusual. When I was pregnant with my first child it was not until about that time when the doctor finally was able to tell I was pregnant. Of course now days with being able to know almost immediately things are different. I would have had no detectable heart beat or enlargement of the uterus at this time of the pregnancy.

IUGR (do a search on Google) could be inter-uterine growth restriction... which is bad news all around. If they tried to check for a heartbeat with a doppler then your doc needs to give his head a shake. Did he tell you that the chances of him being able to hear it already using the doppler was low?? If not, he should have. You can see the heartbeat on an ultrasound but still can't hear it (most times). If he didnt' schedule you for an ultrasound and follow up i wouldn't worry too much, but if he did... ummm.. Good Luck!!!

I would not be overly concerned yet. The question you ask is legitimate but since you went to a professional and he/she is getting paid you should exercise your right to ask your doctor. You should ask right then as soon as a concern comes to you, before you leave the office.
After all it is your health and that of your baby. That would potentially reduce/prevent undo stress on you which could affect the baby.
Congratulations and good luck with delivery. Keep your health professional informed at all times with any changes you see/feel. It is better to find nothing is wrong than to wait and let the problem get bigger or out of hand.

I'm not sure but I think if the pregnancy was threatened to there knowledge they would have ;et you know sometimes it is harder to hear that early and a lot of doc's won't even try till 12 weeks I heard mine at 12 weeks but I saw it on the ultrasound pulsating at eight weeks all pregnancies are different don't worry seems you'll have another appt next week and you'll probably get lucky then. good luck don't worry

It may just be too early to hear it with a doppler device. If you have a lot of "padding around the middle" that can make it harder to find baby's heartbeat. If the placenta is attached to the front of the uterus, that can make it harder to hear the HB. Or if you have a tipped/tilted uterus, that can also make it a little harder to find the HB.

MMM, sounds weird. When I was 10 weeks, we heard the heart, but it might be ok. Just wait till your next appointment and they will do it again. Some women do take longer than others to get the beat, try not to stress over it too much and just wait., Good Luck.

Sometimes the baby's position will prevent doctors from hearing a heartbeat. I wouldn't worry if the doctor isn't worried. I didn't hear my baby's heartbeat until 13 weeks. Good luck.
