to eat whatever I wanted, drink all I wanted and I never got sick or tired. I didn't try to keep from becoming dehydrated I just ran and ran. Now if I drink more than 3 beers I get a stupid yeast infection and a huge hangover! Even if I keep drinking water. I eat wings and drink some beers and get heartburn. This wasn't a problem a few years ago. Is it really called "riding on youth"? I used to have a stomach of steel but I guess I melted the hell out of it already. I can't stay up all night anymore. I swear my food doesn't even turn to energy in my system anymore because I am always tired. I think getting older SUCKS. Could it be a phase?

Yes, I think you have joined me in the phase called "getting older."
Try eating more fruit and cut back on the alcohol.

Okay guys - I think I may be able to help.

Have you tried digestive enzyme supplements? The theory is that as we get older, our bodies produce less enzymes than they did when we were young, and to complicate matters, our modern diets of cooked and processed foods are void of naturally occurring enzymes to assist with the digestive process.

So, the food we eat is not being broken down as it should and contributes to a variety of digestive complaints - bloating, heartburn, indigestion, fatigue, and on and on.

I started taking a vegetarian enzyme supplement before I eat, and it really helped me out. I couldn't even look at some foods without getting "the burn", but now I hardly ever do - even if I haven't taken my enzyme. In addition, I noticed my skin began to clear up as well.

I like Digestive Health from the WellZymes product line. It's reasonably priced and can be ordered online easily - it gets here really quick, too. They also have a product called Gastric Ease which combines enzymes with herbal extracts to help soothe the heartburn - It works really well. The company has plenty of info on their website. I've tried other products, but none seem to work as well as WellZymes.

Hope this helps - it worked great for me!

I included a link to the website, as well as one to a PDF of a study done on digestive enzymes.

I have been going through the same thing the past 10 years (I'm 44).

I can't tolerate eating the same things I used to eat in my teens. Some things make me sick or get heartburn.

Ketchup even gives me heartburn.
