my tank has alot of stringy things floating at the top of the tank were sure its not any waste. my friend told me it might be eggs so i was just wondering what gold fish eggs look like ?

when is the last time you cleaned the fishtank? Normally, stringy things floating in the tank is poop from the fish. Eggs are round. Clean the tank. Check out the following link for more info.

goldfish eggs are not stringy, what you saw was poop, they are clear round individual eggs and they would be plastered on the sides of the aquarium and on any plants in the tank (they will be about the size of this zero %)
