Are wood burning stoves dangerous to one's health, if so, what can we do to protect ourselves?

We only burn from December to Feb. and only if it is really cold out.
We really love the burner, but I am worried about health problems.

Make sure that your stove is properly installed and that the chimney is clean. A carbon monoxide should be installed in your home. We use a wood furnace from December to April.

Make sure you have a carbon monoxide alarm in all the bedrooms and common living areas.

if its properly installed their should be no problems
