If you have ever seen any episodes of "Dawson's Creek" you don't really need to read the books in order. If you would like to read the progression of the character's relationships, you might want to start at the beginning, but like many TV-Series-Turned-Book-Series, if you just want to spend more time with the characters, start where you wish.
