If you are going to breast feed it's a great idea. There are other supplements out there that you can take that are great for breast feeding mothers, so you may want to look into that. But regardless you should stick with a good vitamin to give your breast milk the proper nutrients that your baby needs.
Best of Luck to you!

Prenatal vitamins have a near toxic level of iron in them. In fact the recommended daily intake for iron is LESS if you are breastfeeding than if you are not. You should NOT take prenatal vitamins if you are breastfeeding, I also do not think you should take them when you are not pregnant. When you are trying to conceive extra folic acid and a regular vitamin is sufficient.

its always good to take vitamins especially prenatals (they're good for hair skin and nails)they are very beneficial if youre breastfeeding many prenatals say for pregnant or lactating mothers if you take prenatals while breastfeeding the baby will still get the good nutrients from the vitamin. even if you aren't breastfeeding they're still good to take

Yes mam' you should be taking your prenatal vitamins through out the breat feeding period. I know many women that take prenatal vitamins as a daily vitamin even though they are not pregnant, expecting, or breast feeding.

Hello! My mother, Dr. Shoshana Bennett, is a specialist in nutrition for pregnant and nursing moms. She just came out with Postpartum Depression for Dummies, and has a whole chapter about nutrition. She'd be the perfect person to ask about this, as she's helped thousands of moms. If you'd like, I will personally ask her to give you a call or send you an email so she can give you the advice and help you need. If you send me your information I'll ask her to give you a call. Take care,

Aaron Bennett

I did. Up until I was done nursing. That way I knew even if I wasn't always eating right that I would have a healthy baby and body. Good luck
