Here's the thing. I don't get that scene with Pilate and the Sanhedrin. I mean how could Pilate possibly understand Aramaic? And the scene where Pilate was questioning Jesus... Were my ears playing tricks on me; or did I really hear Jesus speak in Latin? And what's with that raven pecking at Gesmas' eye? What's up with that? Also... remember when they turned the cross over? The cross seemed to be levitating. What's with that? And SATAN...carrying a baby?! Where did that come from?!

The best critique that I have yet to see about this movie comes from my old professor and mentor Dr. Mahlon H. Smith. It's too long to post here, but here's a link to it:

He's -very- thorough in going over every detail in the movie, and comparing it to what modern scholarship's current opinions are.

How could Pilate understand Aramaic? Hullo! Even dumb George Dubya understands some Spanish. You don't think that Pilate could have learned some Aramaic? And, yeah, I think Jesus replied in Latin which would show that he was an intelligent and educated man, not a mere commoner, despite what the others thought of him.

I don't remember the raven, I saw the movie when it first came out but I think Satan was holding the anti-Christ to show that he'd send his son, too. I can't remember for sure, it was too long ago.
