Haha, wow. This happens to me too and they also just turn around and completely ignore me also. Just wait patiently for them to finish, smile, and politely--but not discretely--walk away. If they're not patient enough to listen to you, then why should you care about what they have to say?

We live today in a society that is too focused on "self" and not enough on "community." Those like us end up being walked all over by others, whether it is a simple thing like being talked over or something more seriously like being manipulated. If they continue doing it, they shouldn't be your friends anyway because if you keep letting them they'll eventually start using you whether they/you realize it or not.

That happens to me sometimes too! Like if I am talking to someone, someone else will start talking and then everyone's attention shifts to the new person and they forget I was saying something! I think it has more to do with personality. I'm a bit shy and sometimes do not have much to say, but when i do have something to say, i'm shocked noone will listen... maybe I speak too quietly?

make sure just not to give up! be assertive and if you really believe whatever the thing you want to say is intersting or important than keep talking... Dont try to speak over them or change the attention from them to you .if these people are your friends, talk to them about it, if not just walk away and dont waste your time talking to people who are too obsessed with themselves to listen to YOU!
