Pittsburgh has been selling out this season but the arena doesn't have luxury boxes. Mario has done all he can to keep the Pens in Pittsburgh and should get the best deal, wherever that may be.

Habitant - As a former Southern California resident, I can tell you the Kings are in more trouble than the Ducks. The Kings are lucky to even have a home arena as they share it with two basketball teams, and people seem to think the Lakers basketball team is the only game in town. In the winter, the Ducks are really the only game in town, and So Cal people like winners.

Now, for who is really in trouble, the Phoenix Coyotes, because hockey doesn't relate to desert dwellers very well. That and the last time I remember them being in the playoffs was that 7-game series against the Ducks in like 1999 or something like that.

The Florida Panthers, though they might draw more people if they played roller hockey.

And lastly, all Canadian teams, but thats cyclical depending on the value of the Canadian and American currency and has nothing to do with the quality of teams in Canada.

The Florida Panthers.

The Bruins if Jeremy Jacobs never sells them the B's fans love the black and gold but despise the owner and after inflated prices with thinned out lineups for 30 the people are starting to boycott him finally to bad it has to be at the expense of Our B's

In response to speed of thought I dont think Montreal Toronto Ottawa or Vancouver would ever loose thier franchise the cities are still bigger markets than some of the american cities like columbus nashville pheonix if there is profit for the league and team there isno need to move

I'm going to predict that all 30 teams will manage to stick around for at least another 5 years. Pittsburgh was having some problems but has almost surely saved itself with the young talent they now have. If I absolutely had to name a few that might move it would be Ottawa, Florida, or maybe Edmonton or Columbus. The problem also is that if you move you have to have a better place to go. The areas that could support more than one hockey team already have them. Canada could ALWAYS use more, but it is tough to do business there compared to the U.S. and several have already left to places such as Colorado, Winnipeg, and Phoenix. To stray a bit from the question you asked, the better answer is to do a better job of promoting the NHL and it's rising stars rather than play more musical chairs with teams.

I don't know that much about the situation in Phoenix, but of the teams I do know something about, I would say Florida would be the most likely to move because of poor attendance. As far as those who have mentioned Columbus or Nashville, what have you been watching? They generally get near sellout crowds every game and their fans are very loud and supportive.

Pittsburgh but I don't think it's because of low attendance...

I wish the Islanders would move. They have really bad attendance unless they give tickets away for free or if they are playing the Rangers.

within the next 10 to 20 years teams that will be moved or forced to move cause their not making any money are:

Florida Panthers
Carolina Hurricanes
Phoenix Coyotes
Columbus Blue Jackets
Pittsburgh Penguins (but i don't think it will happen till after a good 10 more years)
Anaheim Ducks (yes their playing great hockey but after 2 more years they will be near the bottom of the standings that's how those American teams owners are they spend everything to last for a good two years then you will watch them fall apart)
Atlanta Thrashers
Nashville Predators
San Jose Sharks
most of the teams i have mentioned are newer teams and are sort of like Baseball teams they try to by a championship and don't win and then loses all there money you watch and see most of the teams i have mentioned will be moved to another city guaranteed.

I think it might be the Washington Capitals. They have Ovechkin and Zubrus that playing phenomenal and they still only average 7 or 8 thousand fans at their arena. Last game i saw was versus the Canadiens and the arena was empty.

First team that comes to mind is the Penguins. It's tough for the fans when that happens and I empathize with Penguins fans; the Sabres came uncomfortably close to being shipped out of Buffalo a few years ago, but thanks to Tom Golisano's great business mind and a couple phenomenal seasons, our team is safe now. I hope the same happens in Pittsburgh!

Probably a few in danger... Florida, Atlanta and Phoenix come to mind. If one of these does move, I hope it moves to a Canadian city... this will guarantee it gets supported, and I think the NHL needs at least one more Canadian team!
