Lync: That is probably the most sensible answer I have ever read on these pages. The Americans really do think terrorism began on September 11, yet they helped to fund the IRA's campaign for years.
I remember the Natwest Tower being bombed in 1993. I actually saw it happen. It was bloody scary, yet there was no song and dance about it. After twenty-odd years, Londoners had become pretty blase about such tragedies.
As for the original question, I wouldn't say the British are stressed out about July 7 per se. Precisely one week after the event, I vividly remember people complaining to London Underground staff because the Piccadilly Line was still closed! (even though the bomb site was some 150 feet below street level, in a single track tunnel, and 26 people lost their lives down there.)
The British just enjoy moaning about whatever they can find to moan about.

Who's stressed out. It's not me. There are those who want to drop a 1 Megaton bomb right on top of Mecca. And to appease them I'll agree to it as long as you remove all the people first.
Now when you get blown to where ever by an unprovoked attack and your relatives start complaining to Blair and Bush why they didn't do something. I'm going to be the first to tell them it's because you didn't want anything done. and when Blair and Bush don't do anything after you are blown to bits and they complain I'll tell them the same thing.
No ALL muslims aren't bombers. But then ALL the rest of GB and US aren't either. And ALL the rest of us aren't War Mongers. We are just opposed to loud noises in our backyard.
I'll make you a deal. You go convince those people using IED, airplanes, or what ever to stop making all those loud noises and running around threatening civilians to stop. After you do that I'll give you my personal assurance the US and BG will stop shooting immediatly. How's that? Deal? When are you leaving for Baghdad?

But the thing is when easterners start going yeah yeah whatever then it does make them look bad. I think americans think terrorism started the day 9/11 happened, but it didn't. I mean London has always had bombings from the IRA, I don't see many people talk about that nowadays. We do stop talking about it but only after a few years pass. When it affects your life our your country people are bound to be talking about it all the time, it's just the way it is. In eastern countries it happens alot, so I suppose they are more used to it, we are not.
