Will the whole world eventually be on one very huge network ?

there is a thing that some futurist have called "the singularity" and the authors of thsi theory believe "the singularity" will happen in our life time

i mention this because I think it addresses your question and has something to do with an overlapping of technology's and an unexpected transformation of life on earth as we have known it will result

what is interesting is that they cannot see what the effect will be of that great overlapping of all things and they said it will be as eventful as man's first appearance on earth

Yes sure and all computers of the world will contribute to a global computation network that will find cures for diseases like Aids and who knows what applications will be found for such a network. On the other side Big Brother may turn your webcam on and check what is happening in your house.

Yep. But there will probably be places, like the deserts of the middle east, Siberia, and parts of Africa and South America where people don't live much, except for people who dont' have that kind of technology. I think you'd be able to go there and be connected, but not everyone everwhere would necessarily be connected, or want to be connected. But we already are, in a way. With a satelite radio/phone. You can pretty much talk to anyone, anywhere, from anywhere.

Yes, but first we have to rise the economic stats of economically weak countries. So that everyone will be able to buy a pc and an internet connection. As also lower the pc/net costs...
