Okay my friends is black and said she only likes black dudes. My other friend called it a prejudice preference to only date your own race. Yet, she is Indian from India and only dates light-skinned black dudes because she wants caramel babies. How is it wrong to say you only date within your race yet it is not wrong for some to say they only date outside their race?

To each his own. It is not prejudice if one is only attracted to their own race. It is not prejudice if one wants caramel babies.

I can see your point of view. In fact, I notice that most women or men who complain about going out with someone of their own race, are also constantly breaking up with persons of other cultures, for the same annoying reasons. I often think when that happens, Oh so, was the grass just greener on the other side? After all these years of watching all kinds of break-ups, I doubt if dating outside one's race is necessarily any better or worse than sticking with one's community. In my opinion, there are pros and cons to dating anybody because, most people overlook what should matter: ie, faith, hope and love.

I don't see anything wrong with only dating your race/ only dating outside your race or dating whoever you want. It's their choice who they want to be with but if they pass up someone because of their race they may miss out on something more special than their stipulations. Oh yeah and I don't really think that's a prejudice....it's just what they are attracted to.

Okay, first of all, it's not a prejudice...it's a PREFERENCE. Secondly, to the person that stated that people should stay w/ their own race to not confuse their children and so their children can know their heritage....Please let me say this, if children (not just biracial children) are not taught their heritage then that is something that is entirely the parents fault and absolutely has nothing to do with your race or mixture of races. I myself can speak first hand on this issue, I have 4 BEAUTIFUL children, all of which are biracial. They are taught their heritages, both of them. They are NOT confused and are very comfortable with themselves. Children know what they are taught....and hopefully they can make informed choices as they are older if they are not taught properly at home.

Ihtink amytime you refure to consider a person of another race it is wrong, prejudiced, and noth the smartest thing to do in some cases. Blacks only comprise roughly 15% of the country's population. By holding onto to such a baseless view then you deny yourself access to 85% of the rest of the country. That is wrong even if you are in the majority. Why not enjoy diversity and date people who are interesting because of who they are not what color they are?

I think maybe people should only date in their own race b/c then your kids wouldn't be confused of their heritage and be criticized by people at school.
