Good question.
So far I have realised that the old adage;
What Goes Around Comes Around
is true. How immensely satisfying when you see someone get their just desserts, and alternately when you see someone who deserves it be rewarded.
An example ; years ago an acquaintance lied to her insurance company. She said someone had broken in and stolen all her jewellery (not true). She got all new beautiful jewellery as a result. Now I see her and she is in continual financial trouble. And I believe it is a case, not only of economic mismanagement, but of reaping what she sowed.

Family is most important in this life, next to close friends.
The rearing and educating of children is one of the most important jobs on earth. Our children shape the future of the earth.
Peace is attainable. Man has the capacity to do it, but it may never be achieved.
Life is too short; so many things to do and so little time.
To be happy, you must develop your body, mind and spirit. All three are equally important.
Nothing is sadder than seeing a hungry or abused child and doing nothing about it.
Mom and Dad proved to be much wiser than I previously believed.

Well, cliches actually work here, to summarize, so please allow me to be banal...
What goes up must come down.
The sun also rises.
If you don't bring an umbrella, expect rain. Umbrellas in the hand tend to keep surprise at bay.
We're happiest when we make others happy.
Darkest before dawn.
Use it or lose it.
Where there's a baby bear, expect Mama to come charging at you. Even when you've done nothing to it.
Death and taxes, and that sun I mentioned before, are the only things I count on.

The best experiences don't cost any money.
A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.
The most important things are honesty, integrity, decency, humility, compassion, empathy, consideration and truth.
Obstacles are really opportunities in disguise.
Everyone is special and unique.
Never, never, never give up!

Sometimes sh*t happens
Sometimes it does not.
A baby's smile is as wonderful as any "natural miracle" (sunrise, flowers, grand canyon)
A dog's love is unconditional.
karma's a bi**h, and sometimes the love comes back around.
True love is real and chocolate is good.
