my guitar teacher taught me this a long time ago and i forget what it is called. we played it over simple blues in E when i first started guitar.

I'll ask my husband when he gets home and let you know if you don't have an answer by then.

Edit-I asked my husband who has been a guitar player for many years. He said he believes it's called 12 step scale. He just plays by ear and has never had a lesson in his life so his answer is sort of a guess.

Well I tried playing this on my guitar and I honestly don't know what it is. To me it sounds like your going up a scale in minor notes though ( all the black keys on a piano). I play in 2 rock bands, 1 jazz band, teach guitar (I'm not a pro though) and I can definatley tell you that this isn't a popular scale.
