I have been working for a company for over a year now and recently(3-4 months ago) started feeling like some of my co-workers(some equal some above me, but not my boss) have been trying to get me to either quit or get fired. I have fallen behind on filing(not that urgent compared to my other duties) but other than that it has been issues with clients paying their invoices which is not my fault if they dispute the charges( I just invoice what I am instructed to). I was off for vacation last week and when I got back it started again, These co workers could not find something on my desk and so called my boss, then emailed her boss and kept going up so today she was forced to send someone down to help me out, and she was ready to leave in an hour because it really was not bad, but she had to stay because "they" were watching. I went to lunch with her and she told me that my boss and her both got the feeling that they wanted me gone. I don't get it. So, should I tough it out or give up???

The lady I went to lunch with said my coworkers want me gone not her or my boss, and did say they did not have the power to fire me-which I already know. I am organized but have set up to be more so and easier for coworkers to find stff on my desk. I know some people are just evil but I for some reason thought that adults should be better than high schoolers. I am just not sure if its worth working in an environment where I am not wanted and thus the stress of it all. I thought some of these people were friends, silly me.

I know some people are just evil but I for some reason thought that adults should be better than spoiled children. I also feel that they are trying to get rid of me so an ex-employee(the person I replaced) could come back to her old job.I thought some of these people were friends, silly me.

The co-workers can not fire you, but your boss can. Go to your boss and ask for help to get organized with whatever you are behind with. Ask for suggestions on how to keep up with the rest of the staff.

Sometimes people are just evil and they will do things to get other people in trouble.

I don't understand the lady that you went to lunch with would tell you she and your boss want you gone??? That does not make sense, who is she to decide if you should stay or leave. I would not trust her with my personal business. She might be going back and forth to your boss tell him what you are planning on doing.

If you like your job and it is a good job, stay and try to work it out.

You might bring it up to them: that you have heard that someone wants you gone but you hope it isn't true because you value your job and are frightened at the thought of not having it (some such anyway).

If that doesn't work out, intimidation sometimes does in which case you would simply tell everyone that the bullying WILL stop - you don't even have to direct the statement to anyone in particular.

However, by all means, if you grow increasingly unhappy, start getting an upset stomach before work or, any other type of digestive problems, see your worker's comp doctor about the stress or, give it up and find another job.

Sounds like a pretty tough situation, and probably doesn't make you want to get out of bed in the morning and go to work. If you really enjoy the job, speak to your boss about what is going on and how you can get organized so you get all of your work done, and to help deal with your other co-workers.

Also- do not trust this lady you went to lunch with. It sounds like there is a lot of gossip in the office, and that's really something you don't want to get sucked into.

Now... if you are really unhappy at this job, start looking for something else. You know deep down if you want to tought it out or not. When you find something else, you can give your notice at this job and move on.

We've all had rough job situations in the past. Sometimes they work themselves out, other times you have to know when it's time to cut your losses and move on. Just try to have something else lined up if you choose to leave.

Sounds like you are being bullied to me, either speak to your boss directly about what is going on. Or try and find another job. You might also be able to launch legal action and sue for bullying, talk to a national work bullying hot-line and find out what your rights are.
