When you stop doing it for yourself and start doing it for someone else.

I just became the Activities Director of the
Alzheimers Unit at a Senior Citizens home.
My job is to make the residents, who are all
in their 80s and 90s, feel productive, busy
and entertained. It's hard considering most
have no concept of life as it currently is.

Well I would have to say when it has been done many times before. Repeating things over and over again.After a while it gets old and feels like a chore.

When you paid some fee to recreate and are fueled by thrift not personal passion.

When a group is involved and one or more members depend on your participation.

Anything you commit yourself to that you enjoy... My question is how long before obligation becomes a bore?

When you join a league. If it's bowling, softball,
or whatever, you are obligated to be present
for the activities wheather you want to or not.

Walking....when you have to walk the dog in all kinds of icky weather.
