is there a safe way to lose weight and carry a baby at the same time??? I am 12 weeks pregnant and want to lose weight instead of gaining it all.

Nope. The baby needs you to gain weight. Even if you are overweight you still need to gain weight. The baby can't take from your stores. They need continued nutrition and you can not diet and provide that. Be a good mommy and gain a little for a healthy little one. Good luck and Congrats on the baby.

I do not recommend dieting while being pregnant. You need to eat a balance diet though you can exercise. Walking is great exercise as well as swimming. I do not recommend joining a gym or doing hi-impact aerobics if you haven't done a program like that before. You are still bound to gain some weight (the average woman gains 25-30 pounds) but dont worry once you have the baby the pounds will fall off quickly, you will be busy. Hope you have a wonderful pregnancy and don't get caught up with the weight gain, a healthy baby is #1 right now.

Dear God No!! Eat healthy, and check with your doctor about an exercise program. This way not only will your baby get the nutrients that he/she requires to develop into a healthy infant, but you won't gain a lot of extra weight, and you will have healthy habits in place so it will be easier to lose the post baby weight.

One thing that you can look forward to when you are towards the end and feel like a bus, is that the day after you deliver, you will feel so much lighter! I gained way more than I should have with my pregnancy, because I ate whatever I wanted, and did not exercise. Still, I felt so skinny the day after delivery.

No... don't do it, you'll end up with IUGR (interuterine growth restriction) and that can cause babys who are small for their gestational age and low amniotic fluid levels. Both of these can lead to fetal death in the last months of pregancy... death by axphixiation.

Always eat healthy, small more frequent meals consisting of vegitables, fruit, cheese, yogurt, lean meats etc. and drink plenty of water. Always take your prenatal vitamines. Remain active, walk daily and swim. If you do these things you're body will be more healthy then it was before you got pregnant and you will lose all the weight you gained from baby... continue this for the year after your pregnancy while breastfeeding and you'll lose a bunch of weight.

Eat healthy, lots of fiber foods, lean meats, fruits & vegetables. Get a lot of non-strenuous excercise. That should do it. The baby and you will both have all the necessary minerals and vitamins The exercise will develop muscles rather than fat. GOOD LUCK!!!

its not recommended that you lose weight during pregnancy, unless advised by your doctor, which is rare! The best thing to do is to focus on eating more veggies and fruit throughout your pregnancy, and stay away from fatty foods, which do no good anyway; Try breast feeding after you've given birth, by then you can try to lose the kilos! gd luck

Just eat healthy and easy exercise (going for walks is great) every day, and when you have the baby, you'll bounce back quicker and be in better shape than before the pregnancy.

no,it is not safe to lose weight while you are pregnant. you are supposed to eat more calories when you are pregnant. it's about what's best for your baby now, not for you.
