Besides this, a student can participate in projects that require two consecutive periods because their teachers would have already talked about it so that no student would be marked absent.

I can't really figure out what "it" can be replaced by...I want to say that teachers would have tealked about it already and would have agreed on the absense so that they wouldnt be marked. Please help!

Thank you!

This is the best I can offer:

Besides this, a student can participate in projects that require two consecutive periods as their teachers would have discussed the time requirements for projects and no students would be marked absent.

Good Luck.

Besides this, a student can participate in projects that require two consecutive periods. Teachers of the earlier class-period would request, in advance, teachers of the later class-period not to mark absent students who are participating in the projects. Therefore, students who miss the second period on account of being involved in the projects would not lose attendance.

This is more than the changes you suggested but:

Additionally, a student can participate in projects requiring two consecutive periods if his or her teachers have previously agreed that the student would not be marked absent.

I hope this is right and conveys the meaning you wanted!

My first suggestion to you would be to get a dictionary and look up the words that you misspelled!

-- already talked about the schedule change
