How is Captain Barbossa still alive at the end of Pirates of the Carribean 2?

Everyone keeps thinking the monkey did it. But if you listen to what the voodoo witch says in the second movie, "if you want to bring Jack back you'll need to go to the ends of the earth and you'll need someone who's been there"

This hasn't been explained yet (wait till the third movie) but chances are that someone (voodoo lady or someone else) went to the ends of the earth to get Barbossa...while it's a possiblity that the monkey gave him a coin, (and if that's true it's a really crappy concept)

Tia Dalma (the voudoun fortune teller chick) tells them that to get Jack back, they need to go to World's End. Well...Jack's dead. They need a Captain who knows those 'weird and haunted shores'.

So Barbossa either went to World's End when he died and somehow found his way back...or everybody else is right and the monkey gave him the coin.

But that doesn't make sense to me, sorry. Because....remember the first one, when he was all obsessed with apples, but he never ate one, because he had no sense of taste due to the curse? Well, at the end of DMC, he eats an apple. So... not cursed.

I'll tell you how. The writer had something dropped on his head. Of course the ending to the movie sucked, however anything that happenes in the next one can be chalked up to vodoo, or another pirate superstition. Its like how a super hero is made. Anything radioactive. It doesn't need to be explained, just touched upon breifly.

In the Very first movie at the very end after the credits it shows the Monkey take one of the gold pieces and therefor you have yourself an answer!

at the end of the first movie the monkey grabbed a coin. and i am BETTING that the monkey gave the coin to barbosa before he died.
