It's not uncool to text. It's not a feminine thing.
However, guys such as myself would prefer to just text once, or twice, instead of a dozen of times. We're impatient when it comes to communication.
After you send 3 or more e-mails or text messages to the guy, he's going to be like, why not just call me....

Coming from a guy, I think that would be pretty decent, but saying that you "just want to see how it goes" is not going to work out well. Those two ideas are completely conflicting, so when you decide to say you just wanted to try, it won't go over too well. Bottom line: That's a decent text for what you want, but don't send it. That's a big deal and if you're not ready to follow through (which is entirely between the two of you), you'll send mixed messages to your boyfriend.

I don't think it's a feminine thing. My boyfriend and I text all the time, of course. But I also know that his friends and him text funny pictures, send stupid and funny messages, and also other info like game times, times to meet, and other mess when they don't feel like chatting on the phone.

i think its fine for guys to textmessage. i love getting texts from guys or guy-friends. its totally fine and its a great, low-key way to talk to people
