I know a man whop runs his whole business on part time employees. He and his assistant manager are the only full time employees and the rest are part time. He does not have to provide them with insurance and other benefits that come with full time employment. Also if you don't work someone more than 5 hours a day, then you don't have to give them lunch either. It is up to the employee as to whether they want to stay or not. The manager is saving a lot of money in running a business on part time help.

You need to talk to your supervisor and ask what's going on here? Has he/she received complaints from the customers or your co-workers about you?

Look at yourself and be honest, have you changed the way that you were working. Do you have an attitude about the work? Do you feel that you are expected to do more work then the other people?

I would say that they want you to quit, and they do not want to fire you. Are you the only person that got their hours cut? Talk to the other workers and see what they will tell you.

In general, if they are not violating labor laws, then employers (any employers, not just Jack's people) will treat you any way you let them.

If you don't want to be treated like that, you have recourse. Find another job and quit!

The reason employers so often get away with treating their good employees poorly is because the employees let them. So don't put up with it. Kick 'em to the curb.
