I'm trying to remember the names of these things so I can google them... basically, they're patterns in the form of shapes, etched into rocks in south america. But I believe the catch was that they only appear when photographed. A typical example of one of these shapes would be a square, with a diamond on the inside, and maybe some diaminds and triangles. But they look very sophisticated.

P.S. They are not the Nazca lines, they're small... less than 1 square foot.

In reply to the 10th posters question... I think you're probably right. Cameras have the unique ability to "slow down" time (or receive light in such a way the human eye can't) in order to see what wouldn't normally be seen otherwise, such as ghosts, auras, etc. I think science will include these things as natural phenomena once we develop the appropriate testing apparatus.

I also am curious with the answers for this one. As with the others thought it was the lines, however, these are much smaller in size. Could it be related to some form of metaphysical for only a camera to pick it up?

I think you're talking about Nazca lines. But they don't appear only when photographed, it's just that you have to get up above them to see them. They are big pictures carved in rock. You can see them just fine.

I know that a petroglyph is a rock carving/etching, but I'm not sure about the photographic phenomenon you're talking about.

P.S. - The etchings are also called pictographs, if that helps any.
