I don't think it's possible but it is our responsibility to keep them healthy and feed them a well balanced diet. I have a saltwater tank and I feed my fish flakes in the morning and shrimp at night to give them variety. Some types of fish are both omnivores and herbivores so giving them a variety is good. Usually if you read up on the type of fish you have you will find their diets do vary and require more than one food. Most freshwater fish are happy with flakes all the time, but some prefer only live food, etc.

I don't know, but they do seem to appreciate an occasional change in their diet. Most fish will pick at a slice of zucchini if you blanch it(drop it in boiling water for 30 or 45 seconds, then run cold water on it to stop the cooking.) Angel fish,Oscars, and other large Cichlids like earth worms. And there are smaller worms that you can grow in an old refrigerator, for smaller fish, if you have the space. Fighting fish like mosquito larvae.(Other fish do to.) There is an out of print book called "The Encyclopedia of Live Foods" that you can sometimes find at fish auctions or used book stores that is a great source of information for anyone who wants to raise show fish or to breed fishes. Have fun. PeeTee.

I would say no on this one. I don't think they have the brain capacity to come to the decision that there even eating the same thing everyday, and if they did, they don't know any better. Kinda like if all you knew was what you had, and nothing else, you wouldn't know any better, and wouldnt think that there are other possibilities out there that you are missing out on. At least in the world of fish....

Well I don't know if they do or not, but I recommend that you vary their diet anyway.
Fish do best with a variety foods, much like humans. Try rotating in different types of flake foods on a daily basis. Then every few days give them something different like brine, freeze dried worms, etc.

No. Fish have no opinions. They do like the occasional batch of live brine shrimp, however.
