India used to include Pakistan and Bangladesh as well. Both split off in the mid 20th century. India remained mainly Hindu and the other two were Islam.

They did not fight over the religion of Islam--India has tons of muslims who practice Islam--But yes, Pakistan wanted to become its own country..--And Bangladesh--Bangladesh used to be called East Pakistan..then they split from Pakistan

I find it interesting that somebody claims that Bangladesh split from Pakistan to form East Pakistan when these nations are separated by 100s of kms.
