Hi! I am an 17 year old junior in high school. For years I have known that I want to be in the health field. I am in a school called MVCTC. It is an amazing school for high school students to learn about the career of their choice as well as finishing high school. I am completely interested In becoming a pediatrician or obstetrician or an orthopedic doctor. My grades are perfect for it (I have a 3.5 GPA) and amazing ACT and SAT scores! I live in dayton ohio. I was wondering if anyone knew any great schools for any of these careers, it will take about 8 years of school and 4 years of residency to get this career and I dont want to move away for 12 years! I toured Wright state university today and fell in love with it! Has anyone heard good about this school? THanks for any personal stories and experiences!!!

Congratulations on your ACT and SAT scores. These scores will pretty much determine where you go to school.

If you are above 2100 on the SATs and above 30 on the ACTs, you can go to a school much better than Wright State.

If you want to stick with Ohio state schools, I suggest you check out Miami University. It's about an hour from Dayton. It has a terrrific med school placement rate for science majors who wish to become doctors (over 90%), and an outstanding pre-med advisory system. You can also go to Miami for free if your family has an income under $35,000.

Best wishes to you!
