According to wikipedia:

A bogey is a piece of dried or partly dried nasal mucus in UK slang (US slang: booger)

In other words, dried up 'snot' (more UK slang), the stuff that keeps the inside of you nose wet to catch dust and stop you breathing it in.

As any self respecting Scotsman will tell you a boggie is a cart, normally home made by a kid (and their dad) with which you used to be able to travel down the hills controlling your steering with a bit of rope or string, duly crash, get skinned knees or worse , rebuild you boggie and do it all over again.

Those were the days (50 odd years ago) when kids were kids and enjoyed themselves with free abandon and expression - and way before the PC brigade got in the act to destroy peoples enjoyment of life (and I'm not just talking childrens lives either).

p.s. Another boggie is just snot (congealed and green)!!!

Bogies on the other hand can be the same as boogers.
