hi my ipod just died recently and i have no warranty coverage anymore. my ipod was a 4th generation one with the click wheel. I tried everytihng to fix it and gave up. I took my harddrive out and i am hoping i can somehow save my files cause i used my ipod as storage too. i was wondering if its possible to use it as a hd now since i took it out of my ipod anyways. can ij ust plug it into my computer somewhere?

Look for a IDE cable adaptor that you can use to connect your iPod hdd to your computers' IDE connector.

I think you will need to put the drive back into the I Pod, then plug into your computer. It should be able to read the drive

you can't use it inside your computer... if the iPod is detected by the computer you can use the 'disk use' feature though.
