Teardrop tattoos- Teardrops mean a variety of things- it depends on the person wearing them and the gang or group. They can mean anything from the fact that the wearer has killed someone to the fact that they've lost a family member or fellow gang member. Depending on the meaning and the particular group, the teardrop may, or may not, be filled in- what means one thing to one person may mean something totally different to someone else. What matters as much, or more than the tattoo, is the context that it's worn in.

nope, its a gang symbol, whether biker or gang related.
the more tears from your eye, represents how many you
have killed. not all go to jail, some dont even serve time.
that symbol came from 70-80's bike gang members.

That is an old thing.....from years and years ago......they may still have some criminals in prison who have that.....but I would imagine that it's out of style now, and just plain not cool.
