The Rennaissance - a period of time (somewhere between 1500's and 1600's....I forget precisely) which was a worldwide time of progress. If you ever go to southern California, at different times of year and different locations you can visit the California Rennaissance Pleasure Faire - it's like stepping into a time machine back to the medieval ages...

"Renaissance" literally means "Rebirth"

It was a time in Europe when many things were discovered & rediscovered after the Dark Ages.

It was especially influential in Italy, France and England. It seemed to spread from Italy westwards.

Hope that helps!

(Oh, for who - think DaVinci - the ultimate Renaissance Man! Painter, sculptor, inventor, architect, etc!)
