The second link gives a more thorough description of some of the schools, the first link offers a more concise list.

I am personally attending Valparaiso University and graduating this spring. It is an excellent program with well educated, attentive staff and very hands on. I have had many opportunities including lab aiding, tutoring, and storm chasing. We have a new building with a radiosonde launcher (now if we could just get the sondes...) and will be adding an instrument tower. We are also installing a new Doppler radar which I have the opportunity to work with. I highly recommend it. Other top programs for undergrad are Penn State and Wisconsin-Madison. I noticed someone mentioned University of Michigan...I think their program is beginning to fade a bit so I wouldn't suggest it, but it's worth checking out, of course.

I have the short list:

Penn State
Florida State
Wisconsin
Miami
North Carolina
Oklahoma
Texas A&M
Cornell

I personally have worked with meteorologists on all of the schools on this list. I graduated with a B.S. from Penn State University and I wouldn't trade that degree for anything. It is a very tough program and ranked #1 in the country. The program is hands-on, the professors are awesome and the student weather station/work center is very good. However, all of the above schools are excellent.

Please add a comment if you have a certain geographic location you are looking for - I will do my best to find you a good school nearby.

I wish you luck!

Btw..sorry Michigan guy, but, I don't know of anyone who graduated from your school. I know it has a good program. Also future mets, be careful when selecting a school. All programs have different strengths and weaknesses. With that said, PSU is number 1 in dynamics. Other schools have different strengths...however, there are many good programs to choose from.

I don't have a list...but I know Penn State is supposed to have an excellent program. My husband is a member of the alums here in the Twin Cities and our local meteorologist came to speak at one of the functions because he was an alum as well.
