Bobby Orr. His offensive output for his time was every bit as spectacular as Gretzky's was in the 80's and 90's, plus a phenomenal defensive defenseman. And he could fight. That being said, Gretzky is my favorite player of all time, he had a fraction of Orr's physical gifts and was still the greatest scorer ever. And Orr's style of play resulted in injuries that caused his retirement at age 29 or something, so Gretzky's longevity is also something in his favor. Still, best hockey player is Bobby Orr.

Many will say Wayne Gretzky because he pretty much owns all of the scoring records in the NHL. Others may say Mario Lemieux. I think Lemieux is a floater and Gretzky is a priss.

The greatest natural goal scorer of all time, was Mike Bossy. He would barely touch the puck and it was in the net. Goalies didn't have a chance.

More than half of your answers have been for #99. It seems like the people are from the younger generation. For myself " Mr. Hockey" Gordie Howe , The Rocket and Bobby Orr are the greatest and always will be.

Mario Lemieux is the greatest player ever. He had less help on his team. In addition, Mario missed 4 years of his prime because of Hodgkins disease.
