well im from another country and I feel they are sorta smart and ignorant at the same time.
Americans want to appear smart but have you ever seen Rick Mercers Report. Ive seen him ask real simple question in the states and boy some of the answers the americans give is down right funny.
there was one question "how many states does Canada have?"
and people were guessing different numbers then finally one little boy said that Canada had provinces not states. they were also asked if it was right to spend money trying to save the canadian national monument and they beleived it was an igloo. also how can a nation that picks bush over clinton be smart. Haven't they realized that both bush administrations have gone to war and they try to drag Canada into there fights. Mean while clinton get ousted for a oral job. I don't know whats mor dangerous war or a oral job GO FIGURE.

During the past three years, that opinion tends to be a mix of fear and horror. The US is the most powerful nation, armed to the teeth, on this planet. So long as they don't make another Iraq out of anyone else, I suppose most people in other countries are quite happy to be far away from the US. But of course, the American movies, music, TV progs and fashion are still welcome out there.

America is like that person at work you don't really get on with but means well. You would talk to America and have the occasional drink with him, but would leave it at that.

usually its negative. People tend to think of us as unfriendly, loud, rude, or immoral. They would probably be correct for the most part.
