Sega's activities have been slowed down since the merging of Sammy and Sega into Sega Sammy Holdings Inc.

This is part of a years-long restructuring of the company and its assets, and building up revenue based on smaller projects and use of existing popular licenses (which explains all the Sonic games and re-releasing of older 32/16/8-bit games).

While this conservitave approach may be underwhelming to many hardcore gamers, it has proven helpful to Sega Sammy's future, as income rose 52 percent in 2006.

Future plans are big and bold, according to shareholder releases, though few particulars have been mentioned. Expect to see more blockbuster projects getting started in 2007 and 2008.

A: Sega is now a third party developer.
B. I'm not sure, Sega has not been on the ball lately. The last three sonics(Shadow, Sonic the hedghog, and Rivals) have been slated as horrible games. While the DS sonic game and PSU are pretty good, I have to admit sega's futer is looking quite grim indeed.

sega still makes games for systems in america

sega is also alive on the console market with the dreamcast, overseas. even if they don't have anything to compete with the 360 and ps3 and wii, they're still loved anyway
