Try another usb port as some don't recognize the Ipod. I just had this issue with my parent's computer and the two front USB ports don't see the Ipod. Hooked it up to the rear USB ports and BAM! it was right there!

I certainly have a 4 GB nano. I certainly have 347 songs, 2 video clips, and four video games that take in a million.5 GB. I certainly have 2.a million GB left. The video clips in simple terms take in approximately 10 minutes. I nevertheless have lots of room left which i'm filling up slowly. Mine is silver.

OK i have a nano but the first time I used it, it didn't do that, the computer recognized it so I don't really know what's the prob but you should go to the apple store where you bought it and there is an area 4 people that has problems with their iPods, laptops, speakers, and all those stuff...another idea is to go to www.apple.com and contact the staff...

Good Luck!

If you go back to the store and explain what is happening, then they should give you a new cable. Does that help?
