THE PERSON WHO SUGGESTED NAOMI CAMPBELL BEING FULL BLACK? She's jamaican and chinese mix!
I totally agree with you. All the supposedly "ethnic" famous people are really half breeds!
Oprah is pretty cool but she's rare compared to all the half breed blacks in the entertainment industry.
Not only are the "ethnic" famous people half black, a lot of them are half asian, or half something else, making people think that the only way they can look like a "pretty black girl" or a "pretty asian girl" is too look like Kristen Kreuk or Beyonce, which is unrealistic because like you said they people are half breeds.

I do not agree with that comment at all. Actresses like Beyonce and Halle Berry are not praised because they are light skinned. They are still seen as black - whichever way. They are talented and ambitous individuals. Look at Naomi Campbell - she's popular and she is dark skinned. Look at Jada-Pinkett Smith, Gabrielle Union, Oprah, Queen Latifah, India Arie, Eve, Angela Bassett and the list goes on. Check your facts hon and stop hating...

Wait a minute, if you're from "Santa Domingo," aren't you considered 'Hispanic?'
Why are you worried about these black women if you aren't even black?
BTW: You cant fault lite skin women because of Hollywood, the women don't dictate the demand, the people dictate the demand. Beyonce is exposed because she has a damn good publicist and because Beyonce is talented. Don't hate, congratulate.
p.s. to "Storm"....Tyra Banks and Meagan Goode are NOT what I would consider light skin, they are milk chocolate.
p.s.s.
with all of the crap Vanessa Williams went through, I think she deserves fame and happiness. Plus, she's very funny in Ugly Betty and has a fantastic singing voice. Oh, and she was the first black Miss America...hello!

At nearly 50 years old, I've gone through different stages of this observation, and have arrived at the fact that: we live in a western, "if you're white, you're white" society, mindset and frame of reference.
Thank goodness for the abundance of magazines which depict all tones of Black beauty. This was not the case when I was younger. I vascillated between reviling these women, who are not responsible for their skin color, but are as much victims of propaganda and ethnic division.

I'm not feeling the love in that comment.
Gabrielle Union is one of the best looking, sexiest women, I've ever seen in my life, I never would have saw her if she wasn't in Hollywood. Also, don't get "mad" because Halle and Beyonce are famous, they are hard working beautiful women and deserve every accolade bestowed upon them. I think you proved your own point in your comments, which clearly reflect an angry black woman. That's how Hollywood sees darker black women, angry. Look at the darker black roles....either angry or loud and obnoxious...and don't get mad at me, I'm merely stating facts.
Actually, if you go thru Yahoo Answers you will see several posts about Beyonce and everytime her name is mentioned, angry black women chime in on how much they hate her.
If you want to break the cycle and stop perpetuating the stereotype of the darker black woman, stop being so damn hateful and angry, otherwise those are the only roles black women will be cast for.
With every hateful word toward your 'own people' (because for as light as they are they are still black and go thru the same things other blacks go thru) you are manifesting your own destiny.

How about Naomi Campbell? I mean, not her recent behavior, but she was famous before that and she's darker-skinned. I don't know if she's American though. Maybe she's English.
