well im a fan of impalas so i kinda depends on the engine whick one is bigger and all that

well the impala SS has 260hp out of a 350 back in 96 and if the charger has the 5.7 hemi which is also a 350 but has 300 some hp. given the weight of both cars, the charger will win.

Depends on the motor in the 06 Charger
If it's the SE - V6 2.7L 190HP it will get smoked by the Impala SS
If it's the SXT - V6 3.5L- 250HP Highout it will be a close race
If it's the R/T - V8 5.7L Hemi - 340HP Charger smokes the Impala
If it's the Daytona or Road & Track - V8 5.7L Hemi 350HP charger smokes Impala
If it's the SRT8 - V8 6.1L Hemi - 425HP it is just simply Murder no contest
RT's - 5.4 to 5.6 sec 0 to 60mph 1/4 mile 13.9 to 14.2secs @ 99mph
SRT8 - 4.7sec 0 to 60 mph 1/4 mile 13.0secs @ 109mph
96 Impala SS -7.0 sec to 0 to 60 mph and 1/4 mile 15.2 secs@92mph.

the charger r/t does high 13's/low 14's in the 1/4 mile, with a high 5 second 0-60.
the impala ss is high 15 1/4's and 0-60 in 7 seconds.

Impala with a 200HP 305 pulling high 15's in the quarter mile..... versus a 6.1 Hemi at 425 HP pulling 14sec..... no contest here.....

Um, first, what kind of racing? Drag? Autocross? Road Course?
Second, stock or mod?
Third, who's the driver?
Finally: who cares, really? I mean, they're just PRODUCTS. Owning "the faster one" doesn't have anything to do with you or how important/impressive you are. They're just objects.
