i have this friend who was raped by her so called boyfriend and one of his boys at a party... so when i was told i beat the kids face in and was looking at 7 months in county jail for it... now my question is how many men would have did the same thing for a woman you have dated, best friend or gf??? and to the women how many of you would want to get the man who raped you back in a violent way??? or would you just want it to be let go??? (knowing that the court systems is worthless and would do almost nothing to the man...)

Hell no! I wouldn't just let it go... all that wouldf do is teach the guy that he can get away with doing that s*h*i*t. I would have reported him and, depending on his size, tried to kick kis a**. I can only imagine how many women feel so violated by rape. I am sure it leave some feeling helpless and others feeling enraged. I think it depends on the situation and indiv. If you are facing jailtime for your friend, your friend should try to speak up and explain why things went down that way (or at least tell you to do what u can)...

Good luck!

O.K., this is a woman who was raped. Here's what I did and what I would like to have done.

I reported the rape. The police knew this guy because he had committed this crime before but, when they went to arrest him, he was not at home. His family brought him in the next day. A high bond was set and he stewed where he sat.

I testified before a grand jury and charges were brought. I was prepared to testify in court but he pleaded guilty to avoid a possible life sentence and got 20 years.

I took my power and control and used it against him just as he used power and control against me.

A man who rapes is most likely to rape again. To my way of thinking, I was the victim of several other women who were raped but did not report it or declined to testify because they had been through so much already.

Your beating him and his friend up did not make any other women safe but did take a good defender off the street. I hope the DA's office consider exigent circumstances and gives you probation. If you did go to prison, you'd be in there with a lot of rapist and women beaters and I suspect you do not prefer their company.

Incidently, a Peeping Tom is a rapist window shopping.

I honestly don't know, I'm only 15, so I haven't really experienced the real world. Never been in a fight or knew anyone who has been raped or sexually abused. I may be too weak or soft to fight him, but I would might threaten him, or just pursue it in court, and then if he isn't punished, then It'll just have to go from there. I am really sorry for your friend, and I hope she is alright. I would think that some women would try to let it go, so the pain doesn't resurface. But if there is not closure and they try to block off that part of their life, its not healthy. But if they try something and it fails, they could be harassed by this person. This is a tough question that if some of us experience it, could show a different side of ourselves more anger, or hate at this person. But for sure I know I would at least confront this person and his friend, with backup, as to why they would do something so evil, and hurtful to such an innocent girl. I feel anger already at how people can do such things.

I've done something similar ( I got ahold of a guy that'd forced his girlfriend to have sex at a party, but the when I was brought to court on assult charges the case was dropped. The court system is old and seriously needs to get re-vamped, because I do agree that many times the punishment never fits the crime. There are some things you never can get the appropriate punishment for, because some acts are just so blatently stupid or brutal that there are no 'peaceful' punishments. I don't know, maybe it's just old school, but I still think that it should be 'an eye for an eye'....if it was, there'd be less crime. And date rape is more common than is actually believed, because there are many cases that don't go reported. The girl usually feels so ashamed that she can't bring herself to turn in her 'boyfriend' until it's too late to prove anything forensically. But, even so, it's not all-right. And guys that resort to that kind of behaviour aren't worth the air they breath.

I would want him hurt yes theres no denying that, but i wouldnt get him hurt and i wouldnt hurt him myself. I've been in that situation before and i done nothing but take him to court. He got charged but then he appealed his sentence and got off... He was 18 and i was 16, i think that me taking him to court scared the **** out of him because he lost his family and respect from the community... I dont hate him(i did for a while) i just think that his life has to be so lonely and unfulfilled because of a case where he couldnt control his hormones...
Im not saying that being raped doesnt f*ck you over because it does, it influences so many aspects in your life after you've been a victim, like, i cant be alone in a room with a male without getting anxious, i cant enjoy sex with a guy on top of me and just small things like that, you get nightmares alot, so yes i understand where you are coming from but you've got to be the bigger person. Be more concerned with supporting your friend then being violent... There is such thing as Karma....

Violence is not the solution. Have your friend file charges. Help your friend with your support and not let the perp get away with it. Get this guy in jail, not you. The court will prevail if you act like an adult and not take the law in your own hands. The court hates it when you usurp the law. Your friend still has an action to prosecute. It is too bad that she does not have your support if you are in jail. We applaud your chivalry but there is a better way to do it.

good for you! Try your hardest to get the reason for all of this happening to the jury. As long as you didn't use a weapon or put him in the hospital under intensive care, i don't think the jury would convict you.
It also depends on the state and county you live in though, ask your lawyer how many rapes there have been in the county within the last year, and what are the chances of him being a repeat offender? I'm sure a good beating will deter him from doing it again.

My husband would of done the same thing!! And yes I would want the man who did it to suffer and I would not just let it go, memories of a rape last a lifetime and they deserve some punishment because of the justice system, men like that usually get away with it.I am sorry that you have to go to jail, but thank you from many women for bashing him in the face.

I can completely understand why you did what you did. My husband and some of his friends beat the **** out of a man who raped one of their friends sisters. My husband went to prison for 3 years because of it. The guy who was the rapist had nothing happen to him. But I don't hold that against my husband at all for beating the guy up. I am proud of him for sticking up for a woman. I am not a violent person, but having had that happen to me, I wish someone would have done that for me. But the guy disappeared and got away with it. I was 15 and he was 26. He gave me the "date rape" drug at a party.

I hope you beat him so badly that being jailed for it for seven months was worth it. You are a good friend. It is indeed sad that bad people get away with crime. You belong to those who rather take matters in their own hand.... otherwise you don't feel like you've done enough...... at least you didn't kill the guy. I'm glad you had the courage to show that someone cared about her. I hope she knows what a special friend you are... very courageous indeed. God bless.... and take care.
