If the music is in your iTunes library (double-check to make sure), it should be automatically uploaded to your iPod when you connect it to your computer.

In Itunes, just drag your music from your library into your ipod folder on the left side.

sometimes you need to convert the files. I have on limewire song and I had to convert it to an mp3 file or something like that. You can also drag and drop the songs to the iPod.

go to file.
scroll down
click add file to library
it should be there
