Does the ram make that much of a difference? video memory. not system memory

It's possible, since both use the exact same chip.

The only difference is the ram and the interface.

Usually agp will be faster , but your chip is weak anyways so i don't think it can take advantage of the agp 8x slot. So since the pci card has more video ram , this is probably why it's running faster.

the more memory graphics card u got and the more ram u hav allows ur pc to create and deliver high quality images and vedios in less time and in an efficient way..wereas if u got low memory ur pc improvises to use whatever its got equipped and adjusts itself to best it can do to run properly.
the relly expensive graphic cards £400+ already has fully equipped processors, heatsink and all the memory ull ever need lol i know its pricy but its relly worth it, it keeps ur regular ram clear for background processing.

video memory should not really matter excpt in high end games. youmight want to check the clock speeds for each of the cards too (the speed that they run at). though, that is pretty low video memory for good performance
