i hope so. but rock and roll has very high standards that lazy people today cant come close to. people are too lazy nowadays to come up with real music. it could happen though. i really do hope it does.
and some bands are keeping it alive today. i really like Wolfmother.
i pretty much know it will die. all sucky music does eventually. hip hop is terribly overrated.
i am 15 and have been obsessed with rock since i can remember. so i dont think it will be going anywhere.

I don't think hip hop and rap has been popular for all that long. I despise it as well, but it's really only been huge for the last 5 or 6 years. Before that, it was the rap/rock thing (Rage Against The Machine and the like). I think that rock music is making a comeback. Look at the success of Tool's most recent album, for example.

Yes and no. Rap will soon die off, but if you are thinking of rock from the 80s its long gone as well. People who grew up in the 50s complained in the 60s that it wasnt real music. People who grew up in the 60s complained in the 70s that disco wasnt real music. People who grew up in the 70s complained in the 80s that there was no real music being made anymore........its an ongoing thing. We always look for the music from our youth - yet our youth is gone. All you can do is learn to adapt to the newer stuff while keeping a collection of the music you grew up with as well.

So what are you calling Aerosmith? final time I checked they have been nevertheless Alive Kicking and Rocking, as I observed them on June 21 in stay overall performance. Its astounding how people think of decrease is God (he's an exceptionally calm right down to earth guy and each thing yet even he will say he get's extra interest as an excellent guitarist than he merits) And that music ended because of the fact AXL is an asshole and fired every person thrice an afternoon, and nevertheless does. Boo on AXL. it is likewise not a easy assertion to declare that rock and roll has died with GNR because of the fact that they weren't the wonderful band ever.

im only 13 and i agree with you. all i hear when i listen to rap and stuff is just a beat and someone who can't sing. i don't think it ever will come back in style. rap/hip hop will die off and someone will create something even more stupid than before. if it does come back in style, it will never be like it was before, led zeppelin, the doors, the rolling stones, and don't forget the real 80s rock, Motley Crue, Guns N' Roses, etc. i mean, one day, kids will start growing up not knowing who Elvis was or how good Jimi Hendrix played the guitar. it's not like we listen to music from the 1800s, right?*sigh* it makes me sad to think i have to grow up with people all around me who thinks justin timberlake and paris hilton are the greatest things that ever happened to music. i don't even care if it's thrash metal that comes back, i jsut want some form of it reborn.♥

Rock and roll never died!!! These various modern fads are all very well, but real music is what moves you to memorize the lyrics, sing along, use it for background when you are with the one you love, dance to it, get down and boogie! And if you think it is gone, listen to some of the recent movie soundtracks. There's plenty of real music out there yet, even if it's what the press has been calling Geezer Rock. Those old rockers taught at least a few youngsters how to play, and they ARE out there.

Rock and Roll is not dead. Even the rap and hip hop artist use some of it in their songs. Listen up. Rock has a wide fan base, people thought Country music was washed up years ago and now look at it's resurgence. I love all music, ok not opera.

People have different ideas on what is "good stuff" for music. Rock and roll probably will be popular again, seeing that trends come and go in cycles.

all this new s.hit they call rock killed the classics and the good stuff. Rap will fizzle out, but I doubt this new "rock" will die. the Man came and took the good stuff and replaced it with bands like My Chemical Romance and Panic at the Disco with help from MTV. heres to the heroes of the dead rock'n'roll!
